Rebecca (Becky)'s Story
I am Becky (Wieme) Norman. I grew up in Sioux Falls---out in West Sioux and graduated from Washington High School in 1962. I married Jerry Norman in July of '62. We started our family right away---having 3 children in 1963---twin boys and a girl. Seven yrs. later we had another son. Jerry drives our truck and hauls gas and fuel. I am retired from a furniture factory where I worked for 24 yrs. We live in Milford, IA. which is the gateway to Okoboji. We have been married 48 yrs. and have lived here most of those yrs. We like to camp and have a fifth wheel camper. Our children and grandchildren live close by so we can see them often. In Jan. we will become great-grandparents. We have 10 grandchildren---most of whom are grown and doing their own thing. My health is not the best but I try to make the best of it. eaned out. Also have COPD and diabetes which makes it difficult to live a "normal" life. I do my own cleaning, cooking, etc. but know there will be a day when I can no longer do that. Jerry has arthritis and some days it is hard to get out of bed for him. He just turned 70 and is still working however. We are just common folks and live a very laid back kind of life. We enjoy nature and the old country music. Sound like hillbillies don't we. It's not quite like that. We like the small town living as opposed to the city. We go back to Sioux Falls often as we have family there but would not trade our town for that life---too fast paced and uncaring for us. Hope to connect with some of the people I graduated with and chat. Jerry is from the Agar and Onida area and we go back there once in a while--I should mention that is in SD for those of you who do not know.
